I’m really terrible at applying nailpolish, but every now and then I attempt to beautify my nails anyway since there are a few really great colors out there.

Chanel nailpolish in 529 Graphite

I picked up this Chanel nailpolish a few days ago and I love it. It’s called Graphite and it’s a glittery charcoal silver. It applies very smoothly and dries in just a few minutes. My new favorite.

Gareth Pugh for M.A.C. nailpolish in Inert

This Gareth Pugh for M.A.C. nailpolish I already talked about previously, when I posted about all three nailpolishes in the collection. I never posted any pictures of the colors applied on nails though. I’ve been wearing Inert quite a bit, so here’s a picture I took last week. Inert is a creamy mid-tone greyed nude, and I find it to be the perfect everyday color.

Just a quick post to show a new eyeshadow palette I bought recently, Les 4 Ombres by Chanel in color 08 Vanités.

In the picture above I’ve used a dark grey primer underneath the eyeshadow. The colors I used are the dark purple (1) on the eyelid, and the soft lilac (2) in the corner of the eye. A dark primer gives the dark purple eyeshadow a shinier and slightly more blueish hue, as you can tell from the picture.
I’ve used the eyeshadows on a nude primer as well, but I find that the colors don’t pop nearly as much as when used on a dark primer. A matter of taste I suppose, I myself tend to lean more towards darker eyes. If you prefer a softer look, you should use a nude primer with this palette.

Since I finally finished my beloved Dior eyeshadow after quite a few years (I’d only wear it going clubbing), I set out to get a replacement eyeshadow this past weekend. I intended to get the exact same one again, which is the One Couleur Eyeshadow in color 078 Midnight which translates to a dark smoldering grey. I had to find out that by now it has been discontinued though, which in retrospect isn’t all that surprising as collections change.

So, I had to find another eyeshadow that is similar in color. After much deliberation, I ended up at the Chanel desk.

The eyeshadow I ended up picking is the Ombre Essentielle in color 87 Taupe Grisé. It’s a greyed taupe brown with a soft sheen. The Chanel packaging is flawless, very chique. The eyeshadow itself is wonderful, it has great pigmentation and it applies very smoothly. I love the little Chanel logo embossed in the eyeshadow.

It’s a lighter eyeshadow than the one I meant to replace, but I do like it a lot. It’s a bit more subtle if you will. All in all I think it’s very pretty.
