Alas, our vacation has come to an end. We got back from Las Vegas a few days ago, and jetlag is still playing quite a number on me. It was absolutely amazing though, best vacation of my life so far. I could tell all sorts of stories and show a ton of pictures, but since this blog is all about fashion I will focus on just that. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, as the saying goes.
On our second day in Las Vegas, we stumbled upon the Alexander McQueen boutique more or less by accident. We didn’t plan it for that day, but since we were close by we had to pay a visit.

The boutique is located along the Wynn Esplanade shopping area at the Wynn Hotel, on 3131 Las Vegas Boulevard South.
This is the second largest Alexander McQueen boutique in the United States. The store features a range of garments for men and women, plus a variety of eye gear and accessories. The store itself is very spacious, streamlined, white and clean, minimal yet bold. Display fixtures are suspended from vaulted ceilings that seamlessly curve into walls and the polished terrazzo floor. Lighting is integrated in diffuse light boxes.
I have to say, the store didn’t make a terribly huge impression on me. It was great to finally visit an official McQueen store, but compared to some of the other stores surrounding it (Chanel and Dior for instance, had beautiful window displays and looked far more dramatic and luxurious), it seemed a bit simple and bare. The personnel was very nice though, younger and edgier than at other stores.

Even though I had expected to be much more wowed by everything, it was still great to see some of my favorite McQueen items close up. I didn’t purchase anything, as the items I liked were a little above budget. The only things I did buy on this trip were some touristy t-shirts and some make-up by Kat von D, which I will write about in another post.
