In my New York shop log I already mentioned this perfume, Saint by Kat Von D. I bought two rollerballs when we were in the United States, one of Saint and one of Sinner, since at the time I just couldn’t decide which one I prefered. By now I know that Saint is my absolute favorite of the two, so I went online and ordered the purser spray which holds 1 oz of eau de parfum versus the 0.33 of the rollerball.

As I wrote in my earlier post, Saint’s top notes are plum and mandarin, the middle notes are tiare flower, caramel and jasmine, and the base notes are vanilla, musk and sandalwood. It’s a very sweet, candy coated smell. There’s florals in there, a little crystalized sugar, and during the dry down you get that sweet cupcake smell. The portable purser spray is made of a sturdy silver colored thick plastic, which is decorated with skulls and filigree. You have to push the top lid to the side in order to be able to spray some perfume, which makes it perfect for carrying with you in your bag wherever you go.

Today I have another holiday collection for you, the Éclats du Soir Christmas 2012 collection by Chanel. This is the look I intend to be wearing this Christmas.
Chanel Le Vernis in Malice and Lèvres Scintillantes in Allégorie
Chanel is the number one trend setter as far as nail polish colors go, and this holiday season they’ve come out with another beautiful shade. Le Vernis in color 637 Malice is a very deep, blackened burgundy with a red shimmer. I don’t usually go for red nails as I tend to favor cool tones, but Malice is an instant classic and just simply irresistable.
For the lips, I chose the Lèvres Scintillantes lip gloss in color 347 Allégorie, which is a sheer shimmering pink. Chanel lip glosses have a wonderfully smooth, non sticky formula and this is a beautiful, subtle pink color. I want to keep my lips fairly neutral as I want to put the emphasis on my eyes.
Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Apparence and Ombres Contraste Duo in Nuit-Clair
So for the eyes… First up, the Illusion d’Ombre in color 817 Apparence. The Illusion d’Ombre is a long wear eyeshadow in a gel texture, which allows it to be worn as either an eyeshadow or an eyeliner. Apparence is a warm golden bronze color, with a metallic finish and a fair bit of sparkle. I’m not entirely sure yet whether I’ll only use this on the inner corner of the eye, or on the entire lid.
And then finally, the Ombres Contraste Duo eyeshadow duo in color 47 Nuit-Claire. This is a rosy beige and a deep black eyeshadow. Your everyday essentials, perfect to create either a subtly defined or a more dramatic look.

As far as nail polish goes, Illamasqua has got to be my favorite brand. In my experience these polishes last much longer than any other brand, and are much more chip resistant. Every now and then I take a peek at their website to see if they have anything new to offer, or to maybe try out a color I hadn’t considered before. Recently I noticed that on the Illamasqua website you can find some web exclusive nail polish sets.
Illamasqua Iridescent Nail Quad
The set that caught my eye, is the limited edition web exclusive Iridescent Nail Quad. This quad features Prism (sheer iridescent blue), Scorch (pure white with a glossy finish), Harsh (silver glitter with a glossy finish) and the Illamasqua Nail Base Coat. Scorch and Harsh are part of the permanent collection, but Prism is a limited edition nail polish that hasn’t been available for some time now. I had been looking for Prism for quite a while but couldn’t find it anywhere online, so I was very happy to see it included in the Iridescent Nail Quad!

The Yves Saint Laurent Northern Lights Christmas 2012 collection takes inspiration from the northern lights. The main colors of the collection are violet, midnight blue and mother of pearl which are all tones that can be seen in the beautifully lit up skies of this natural light phenomenon.
Yves Saint Laurent Première Neige Top Coat and Golden Gloss in Polar Pink and Arctic Blue
My favorite item of this collection is the beautiful La Laque Couture in color 33 Première Neige. This is a transparent top coat with pink and blue glitter, creating changing lunar highlights. This top coat can be worn over any base, natural or dark, to give it a festive sparkle.
The collection also holds two lip glosses which I both love: the Golden Gloss in color 56 Polar Pink, and color 55 Arctic Blue. Polar Pink is a snow white gloss with pink, pearly highlights. Arctic Blue is a glacial blue with a fresh, glittery highlight. Both of these lip glosses contain 0.2% of 24 carat gold. But beware! The Golden Gloss formula has a very strong lychee smell and taste, which is something you’ll either love or hate. Me personally, I’m not at all crazy about this specific attribute and it makes me a bit hesitant to actually wear these lip glosses, but the pretty colors made me get them anyway.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t really like Thierry Mugler’s Womanity too much. It’s a little too fruity for my taste. What pulled me in despite of the scent though, is the amazing bottle design. The bottle is made of glass with a beautifully engraved brushed metal top part, which contains a mask shaped like a female face and a ring suspended from a chain.
Womanity by Thierry Mugler
Womanity has both sweet and salty notes. The fragrance opens with a fruity and milky fig note, then comes the salty caviar and it ends with lingering fig wood and leaves. It’s a very fruity and incredibly strong scent, and the lasting power is unrivaled.
Womanity perfumed wax ring by Thierry Mugler
There’s a wide range of Womanity products available, which all have the same amazing design. I recently bought the limited edition perfumed wax ring. The ring has a pink gemstone on top which you can click open to reveal the silvery glittery wax, which actually smells much nicer to me than the fluid does as it’s much more toned down. The ring comes with a little silver pouch as well.
